If it is convenient to take down your drapery or fabric
window treatments, then your best bet is to use a qualified professional dry
cleaning shop in your neighborhood, (unless the drapes are latex-backed.)
Most dry cleaners who offer this service will offer to come to your home and
take them down. However, some designer window treatments are too difficult
to remove from their installations. Also, some people find it inconvenient
to have the windows exposing strong sunlight and loss of privacy in the meantime
waiting for the return of their drapery. For these reasons we offer an "S Code" in-home dry cleaning process that never causes shrinkage. There is
a lot of set-up time involved to prepare the work area in order to protect
windows, walls, and fixtures in the home, so it is not an inexpensive process.
In most homes where the indoor air quality is good, with routine vacuuming, you can allow several years to elapse between professional cleanings
of draperies.
